Sick Day

Today was Danny's first sick day of kindergarten. We spent much of the day doing puzzles, reading The Dangerous Book for Boys (which gave Danny too many ideas), and I made my snapfish photo book (which involved some Reading Rainbow for Danny... I LOVE that show). You all heard about the free snapfish photobook from Oprah, right? I actually saw the show on Wednesday, but then got e-mails from a couple of friends who were sharing the information. If you are interested, go here by midnight tonight and start your book, and then you have until Sunday to actually finish your book and order it.

I hate when the kids are sick, but I have to admit that it was nice to have a relaxing day.

Maryland Football

A couple of weeks ago we went to a Maryland football game (against Wakeforest). Annelise remembers the Demon Deacon (Wakeforest's mascot) the best. We had a great time, and the marching band is AWESOME!!!!

We did a simple tailgate lunch:

We found our seats (in the sun):

We covered our ears when the cannon went off:

We moved to the shade later (and Danny spit while his picture was being taken... gross!):

We watched the marching band:

We made it half way through the third quarter. Not bad for a noon game with two young kids. It was a good time! (Thanks to Randy's colleagues for sharing their tickets with us!)

Halloween

We had lovely weather (once again) for Halloween, despite the fact that it was in the low 40's two days earlier. Danny was a Jedi, and his costume was a nice mixture of what we had and borrowed from a friend. Annelise was a cute little candy corn (costume made by my mom). We went to some local businesses for a parade in the early evening. Later we went trick-or-treating and to a party at a local elementary school. Annelise got very into it and was giggly and funny. My parents are here again this year, and we all enjoyed walking around town and participating in the fun Halloween activities around here.
