Fun Times

The adjustment back to MD has been a long one. Danny and I are officially back in our school schedules. I have had a couple weeks of various meetings, and Danny started kindergarten yesterday! Can't believe it! I have pictures and fun stories to post, so keep checking back... I'll do more updates as the week goes by. I still have some Oregon/California pictures to share, too.

Things We're Trying

We have had huge troubles adjusting back to MD life. Some of it has been the time change and some has been grandparent detox. The kids have been so difficult lately! I have been working really hard to keep their days busy so they will sleep well at night and hopefully get lots of rest. On Thursday, the day after we got back, we went blueberry picking. We went to Butler's Orchard like last year, and we were able to pick 6 pounds. It was great... and we still have a few left! On Friday I did some things with the kids locally (went to a park, did some errands, etc.), and we had company over for dinner. On Saturday they kids went to a birthday party. It was an outdoor water party and was lots and lots of fun. On Sunday we kept it pretty low-key, but did go to the Farmer's Market. On Monday we had a play date in the morning. On Tuesday we went to the movie and had lunch at Chic-fil-A. Today was Randy's birthday, and we went to the Air and Space Museum by Dulles airport. Awesome! I'll share pictures tomorrow...

Anyway, we have been very busy, but the kids are still having trouble sleeping at night. They are actually going to bed fine, but then they wake up in the middle of the night and have trouble getting back to sleep. They are cranky (Heck, I'm cranky, too!) because they aren't getting enough sleep and the cycle just continues! I have an early morning meeting on Monday, so I'm hoping things get straightened out soon! Cross your fingers for us!

I Hit a Home Run

Today I did two things that were big hits with the kids. Our local Regal theaters have free kids movies during the summer, and we went and saw Charlotte's Web. Danny has seen one movie in the theater before and did much better this time. This was Annelise's first movie, and she sat on my lap the whole time. They did great and it was nice and cool inside!

Annelise hasn't been eating much lately. She is a PICKY eater. In fact, if she hasn't eaten much for a couple of days, I make sure to scramble up some eggs or make macaroni and cheese, just so she will eat. She will always eat fruits, but I can't give her too much or she has stomach issues. Well last night I tried a new lentil and rice recipe. It was a big hit with the girl! As Randy and I watched her eat THREE helpings we didn't even want to comment for fear that she would stop eating!

Three Weeks

from today, Danny will be a kindergartner. Don't really know what to think about that!
