Things We're Trying

We have had huge troubles adjusting back to MD life. Some of it has been the time change and some has been grandparent detox. The kids have been so difficult lately! I have been working really hard to keep their days busy so they will sleep well at night and hopefully get lots of rest. On Thursday, the day after we got back, we went blueberry picking. We went to Butler's Orchard like last year, and we were able to pick 6 pounds. It was great... and we still have a few left! On Friday I did some things with the kids locally (went to a park, did some errands, etc.), and we had company over for dinner. On Saturday they kids went to a birthday party. It was an outdoor water party and was lots and lots of fun. On Sunday we kept it pretty low-key, but did go to the Farmer's Market. On Monday we had a play date in the morning. On Tuesday we went to the movie and had lunch at Chic-fil-A. Today was Randy's birthday, and we went to the Air and Space Museum by Dulles airport. Awesome! I'll share pictures tomorrow...

Anyway, we have been very busy, but the kids are still having trouble sleeping at night. They are actually going to bed fine, but then they wake up in the middle of the night and have trouble getting back to sleep. They are cranky (Heck, I'm cranky, too!) because they aren't getting enough sleep and the cycle just continues! I have an early morning meeting on Monday, so I'm hoping things get straightened out soon! Cross your fingers for us!

Hi
Just a thought off the top of my head on kids' behavior. I think they are overstimulated and were to start with, jetlag, time change etc etc and then lots of activities when they got home so they're overtired every night. Just lay back for a few days even if it's boring and they may readjust quicker.
