Fall Farm Festival

Yesterday we all took a trip to Frederick, Maryland to go to a fall festival. The car ride was about one hour, but was filled with beautiful scenery (farms, changing leaves, etc.) and signs that read Gettysburg and Harpers Ferry. Randy and I realized we were driving through Civil War ground. Now that isn't something that happened in Irvine, California!

The farm was beautiful (click here if you want to see it). They had many attractions for little and big kids. There was a huge maze made in a corn field (they called it the maize... get it?), which was too much for our group, but Randy and I are anxious to try it when the kids are older. For the little kids they had pig races, train rides, pony rides, mini-mazes, animals, play areas, and huge slides. Speaking of slides, Danny, Randy and I all took a try at these large slides. So much fun! They even had a mini-slide that Danny wanted to try. Guess what? After 20 or so times on the large slides, it took the tiny 3 foot slide to give him a swollen, cut lip. We ended our time at the farm by taking a hay ride to a field of pumpkins, where we picked out our pumpkin for this year. Danny thought it was a blast! Annelise was pretty much along for the ride. Here are some pictures of our day.
