You did read me right... Damny. Danny has been a lot of fun these last weeks. As I mentioned in a previous post, he has been pretty obsessed with spelling things, especially his name. We have magnet letters on our fridge, and Danny was quick to discover that he can't spell Danny because there aren't two ns. I didn't prompt him in this AT ALL, and one day I was making lunch and he said, "The M looks like an N, so I'll just put an M in my name to spell Danny." So I look, and sure enough, there it is... Damny. He did have one time in the last few days where he couldn't find the Y, and that was amusing for Randy and me.
We have been counting down the sleeps until Christmas, and Danny has also been enjoying an advent calendar. I am cooking our Christmas meal today, and he was confused why we were having our holiday meal a day early. Randy and I explained that the day before Christmas is Christmas Eve, and that we would have our meal on Christmas Eve. Of course, he wondered when we would be opening all of the gifts under the tree, and we had to explain that the presents wouldn't be opened until Christmas morning. This morning, while Randy, Annelise and I were in the kitchen, Danny woke up and strutted out to the kitchen saying, "Mom, today is Christmas Eve." The way he said it was so factual and insistent... like "today's almost Christmas, Mom, don't you know?"
