We're In!!!

We are in our new place, and as of today.... we have Internet! Yea! Of course the desktop computer (the family computer) is not up and running, so I am on Randy's laptop without my usual picture programs. So all you get is me blabbing!

The move was relatively uneventful. Randy's mom was out for the week prior helping me with the kids while Randy painted our new place, and I tried to pack. On Wednesday we physically moved our stuff (nice to know that all our junk fits easily on a 26 (or was it 23?) foot U-Haul in one load! That evening Randy's dad arrived to help with some handy-man projects. I love my husband dearly, but he didn't get the gene for such things. Randy is trying to take every opportunity to learn, though, so that we don't have to hire someone to do every single thing around the house! Ceiling fans and light fixtures have been installed (or replaced), shelving in the garage and master closet was installed, and plumbing fixtures were replaced. It has all been a ton of work for the two of them, but the results have been great. I will have lots of Before and Afters over the next couple of weeks, when I get my desktop computer running. You all will laugh at some of the stuff we had to start with, especially in the master bedroom!

The men have been pulling very long, hard days, and Danny is done with school for the year, so I have been on full-day kid duty! Because there has been so much activity around the house, Danny hasn't been going to bed much before 10:30 or 11:00 (which is absolutely crazy compared to his normal 7:30 or 8:00 bedtime)! Annelise is tired, though, so she is going to bed early and getting up early. Every one's schedule is all out of whack! With all of that, not much unpacking has taken place, so I am anxious to get things settled. When Randy's dad leaves, I am hoping to have most things unpacked in 2-3 days. That may be ambitious, but Randy said he would watch the kids!

This is our 6th place in 9 years of marriage! We should be here for a while, though!

Did I mention the horrible weather the last week? Evil temperature and humidity... but we saw our first firefly of the summer tonight!

I didn't get the handyman gene, either, so I can sympathize with Randy. Bring on the Befores & Afters!
