I love house plants. BUT since I've had kids I haven't really been able to keep them alive like I should. Actually, in CA we did pretty well, but we had to leave a couple of surviving ones with friends when we moved across the country. I am now ready to get back to it! My goal is to get a few more houseplants in our home. I would love to get some kind of ficus for our living room/dining room, and then a couple of low-maintenance plants for the kitchen, family room and our bedroom.

I have had these two small houseplants in our bathroom for the last six months (aloe and some other pretty little plant). They are both easy to maintain and look nice in our white and gray bathroom. Growing things does make me happy! (I can't wait to do my outside planting, too.... about six more weeks!)
I'll post pictures of our plants when I get them. Probably after we travel this summer (I got to give them the best chance of living!).

Hi Jen,
Funny you posted a pic of your aloe plant- I just tore one out of my garden this week, it didn't look so good after the cold. It will be a few more years before I consider house plants again. Our lone indoor plant is a bamboo shoot from the asian grocery store. It gets watered about 3 times a year. (=
Sorry your kids are sick...it is isolating. Hope everyone gets well soon.
Becky-- I'm glad I'm not the only one who has trouble with houseplants! That makes me feel better!
I'll have to try an aloe plant as I kill all plants that come to my house:)
