Yesterday I co-chaired the yard sale for Annelise's nursery school. I was there quite early to set up and spotted the bag full of Legos. It was a brown paper grocery sack filled TO THE BRIM with Legos. The price??? $5 FIVE DOLLARS????? (I guess I feel like exclaiming things tonight!) I was able to snag it before it even went out on the lawn. I didn't get a good look at it until later that afternoon when I presented it to Danny.
First of all, there were the instructions to four sets. I could tell they were of the 80's variety (like the ones I had as a kid!!!). All the Legos were sorted by color within the bag, and there was also a set of random parts like wheels and people (the cool bigger ones with removable hair). Because they were sorted by color, I couldn't tell at a glance if most of the parts were there for the four sets.
As Danny, Randy and I have been assembling the sets we have been shocked by the fact that all the parts (so far) have been there! Crazy! So far we have done the Police Station (which includes two motorcycles, a car, van and helicopter) and the Swiss Villa. This week it looks like we'll be doing the Moon Landing and the Brick Yard. I LOVE Legos. And yes, the early bird does catch the worms!

That's really amazing. Quite a find!
Yep, those Lego sets look very familiar. Both the space and city series of kits were big back then, which nothing compared to what is on the market today. I guess there is more than one Police Headquarters set, as I had Set #381 (http://kianoush.blogs.com/persian/0381-1.jpg). Those were the days.
wow that a deal! andrew is so jealous, these are some of the sets he had as a kid.
