Welcome, Randy!

I've had so many things to share about our CA trip (and I will get it up here!), but it will all be on hold this week. Randy has wanted to share some fatherly and husbandly things on my blog for quite some time. This week he is taking some time off from work to participate in many of the inauguration festivities here in DC, so he though he might write a few posts for you all, too!

For those few of you that don't know much about my husband: Randy is a VERY devoted father and husband. I will have known him for 16 years this February. He loves to read (that is why he is an English professor... duh!), but doesn't hold himself to only "fancy pants", "snooty-toot" stuff. In fact, you should have seen us trying to read Pledged: The Secret Life of Sororities at the same time. Of course it was all research for him (he was trying to understand his students and where they are coming from...ahem). My library copy would magically disappear from my nightstand only to be found on his side of the bed. Randy will also read almost anything political. He is the only person I know who read every page of My Life by Bill Clinton (from the signed copy his mom gave him!). And he will talk politics with ANYONE. Speaking of political, my husband has a very kind way of saying just about anything. It really balances out my bluntness! Fatherhood has suited Randy quite well. He is never hesitant to get his hands dirty, discipline, crawl around on the floor, dance, or bathe the kids.

Of course there is much more I can say, but most of you know him personally and know that he is a great guy. He'll have a few posts up this week. So, enjoy!
