Ok, so most of my friends and family know that I love TV. I don't watch a ton, but I manage to Replay (which is like Tivo) my favorites and watch them at my own convenience without the kids around.
I had to make a conscious decision about four weeks ago about celebrity gossip, though. I can't partake! Don't get me wrong, I love to go to the gossip websites and blogs, I love to watch Access Hollywood and read In Touch Magazine, but I just can't do it anymore. The stories of the above personalities have all been so tragic, and so sensationalized. Why should I be the rubber-necker looking at the horror of their lives? It doesn't help them, and it certainly isn't edifying for me!
So I have given it all up. I don't need to feed the frenzy. I really don't need to know.

Hey! It's been great to catch up on what your family does and how you grow.
I'll say to this post:
Good for you! I fully support giving up what is not edifying.
(I just watched Desperate Housewives on the internet, Shall I start the pruning now and not watch it again?)
I keep myself up way too late at night procrastinating going to bed doing just such a thing. Thanks for being a good example.

Adina,
Giving up celebrity gossip is one small step, but I don't think I could give up Desperate Housewives (right now, anyways)!
It is about managing time, though. Why should I waste time reading a gossip website when I could be reading a good book, or working on a project, or even better... getting a good night sleep?!
It is good to hear from you, and take care!
Jen
